Why haven't Athletic and Marseille signed?

Athletic Bilbao is one of the two teams without signings in Europe's top leagues, alongside Olympique de Marseille. According to L'Équipe, the Bilbao club has a very restrictive transfer policy, only signing players of Basque origin or developed in the region.

What's happened with the other teams?

In Europe, only three teams have activated purchase options: Rayo Vallecano for Nobel Mendy, Real Sociedad for Kazanuri Kita and Napoli for Rasmus Hojlund and Alisson Santos. Marseille, on the other hand, has confirmed the sale of Mason Greenwood and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and has allowed Bilal Nadir to leave at the end of his contract.

What's next?

Bruno Genesio, Marseille's coach, is preparing the departure of several players, including Gerónimo Rulli and Facundo Medina. Athletic Bilbao, on the other hand, continues to sign no players.
