Athletic Bilbao is counting on the World Cup. The call-up of Simón, Nico and Laporte with Spain, and Iñaki with Ghana will report around one million euros. It has been a bad year in terms of sports for Athletic, but more than positive in the economic field. A lot of money has entered the box, around 40 million, thanks to the Champions. A good news, since next year will not arrive that extra amount for participation in a European tournament. But in that international context, good news arrive thanks to another event, the World Cup. Simón, Nico Williams, Laporte and Iñaki Williams will report on one million euros if everything goes smoothly in the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico between July 11 and 19. The FIFA announced that it will distribute 355 million dollars – around 305 million euros – thanks to the Club Aid Program, a 70% increase compared to what was carried out four years ago, in 2022, in Qatar. At that time, it reserved 209 million dollars – 180 million euros – among 440 clubs of the 51 federations of the six confederations. As a novelty, this year, clubs that have had representatives in the different phases of qualification for the World Cup have been rewarded. Therefore, Ibaigane is favored with Vivian, with Spain, and Sannadi, with Morocco. Since last Monday, the counter has been in operation and will not stop until the day after the elimination. In red and white, everything refers to Spain and Ghana. There is a maximum of 50 days, counted between June 1 and July 20. For each called-up player, 9,321 euros per day are received. But there is small print: the organization led by Infantino explains that the coverage is distributed among the teams in which the player has been registered during the two years prior to the final phase. This means that Al Nassr, Laporte's club of origin, will receive around 240,000 euros. The estimate is that if Spain plays the title match, 1.2 million euros will arrive in Bilbao, which will be left with 900,000 if the Red falls in the quarterfinals and around 900,000 if it reaches the semifinals.
