The new manager made clear that promoting academy talent will be the priority. In the same press conference, the club confirmed the loan of Ibai Sanz to Segunda División side Córdoba, after he scored twenty goals in the last two campaigns with the reserves. Terzic considered the move opens a spot for another youngster to rise to the first team.
Athletic Bilbao will open Lezama to the public on Thursday July 16, offering the first open‑door training after the season opener against Derio. Terzic will take part in the session, greeting supporters and strengthening his bond with the fans. The club also announced medical examinations for the 35 players under his charge, while awaiting the return of World Cup participants and the recovery of Egiluz.
Terzic admitted he would have loved to play in Europe this season, but his current goal is to bring Athletic back into the race for European spots. "We want to be part of Athletic's history," he said, adding that San Mamés' passion will drive the effort.
